.an Infographic is Worth More.
Data, words, and visuals together form a powerful story-telling tool—the infographic. The ability to research data and describe it effectively using visualizations is a unique skill that requires both an analytical and artistic mind.
From the brainstorming stage to the final deliverable, this project was quite a journey. Diving deep into crime databases and sorting through decades of data was a challenging task that demanded much time and dedication. I had one main goal for this project— to tell a story that would keep the audience thinking long after they viewed the infographic.
The visualizations were created in Illustrator and as a novice user of the software, this required an immense amount of patience and practice. The journey taught me that with persistence, any skill can become polished—
and this is evident in the infographic’s design evolution.
